“It’s Alright” – Theme Song Lyrics
It’s alright it’s okay
Doesn’t really matter if you’re old and gray
It’s alright I say it’s okay
Listen to what I say
It’s alright doin fine
Doesn’t really matter if the sun don’t shine
It’s alright I say it’s okay
We’re gettin to the end of the day
High tech, low tech
Take your pick
‘Cause you can’t teach an old dog
A brand new trick
I don’t care what anybody says…

Investigating UCOS
New Tricks follows the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS), a fictional division of the Metropolitan Police. Led by Superintendent Sandra Pullman, the team is made up of three retired police officers—Jack Halford, Brian Lane, and Gerry Standing—who are brought back to use their “old school” methods on cold cases.
The show became a massive hit for the BBC because of the chemistry between its leads and the catchy theme song sung by Dennis Waterman himself. Waterman was well-known for singing the theme tunes to many of his shows (a habit often poked fun at in British comedy!).
