Invader Zim follows the misadventures of an outcast Irken invader who is sent on a “secret mission” to Earth. With his malfunctioning robot servant, GIR, Zim attempts to infiltrate human society, only to be constantly thwarted by a paranormal-obsessed human boy named Dib.
The show’s music was primarily composed by Kevin Manthei, who used a mix of orchestral elements and dark industrial synths to create a sound unlike anything else on Nickelodeon at the time. Despite its short run, the series’ unique visual style and twisted humor earned it a massive cult following.
