The Scooby-Doo theme song is one of the most recognizable melodies in television history. Composed by Ted Nichols, the track was specifically designed to balance the show’s “spooky” mystery elements with its lighthearted, bubblegum-pop humor. When Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! premiered on September 13, 1969, it marked a major shift for Hanna-Barbera, moving away from traditional superhero fare toward the “meddling kids” mystery format created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears.
